What is a butt plug and why is it so enjoyable
A butt plug is a toy that can be inserted anally. Generally, the shape starts tapered for ease of insertion and becomes wider or bulbous -- perhaps with one or more ridges, nubs, or nodules -- before narrowing to a neck that rests inside the sphincter. Butt plugs can be straight or slightly curved and can be made of material from the soft to the rigid. The best designs take safety into consider and end with a flared base or handle that prevents the plug from being able to slip all the way inside. The handle or base should be significantly wider than the neck of the butt plug to accomplish this. Some styles have gems embedded into the base, and there are companies that make plugs with furry animal tails or other accessories.
Consumers should pay careful attention to the length and width of the but plug. Although you can work up to larger plugs, it's wiser to start small. The sphincter can be quite tight.
The best butt plugs are made from nonporous materials, which means not only that you can wash any debris off the surface of the toy but that there will not be any harbored within invisible pores beneath the toy's surface. Nonporous materials include stainless steel, glass, silicone, plastic, ceramic, and treated wood. Of these materials, steel, glass, plastic, wood, and ceramic are rigid and tend to be quite slick; although, they have different weights and respond differently to temperature (metal transfers heat or cold excellently). Silicone can range from quite soft to nearly rigid, too, and the finish can create a bit of drag depending on its texture.
People generally enjoy the filling sensation of butt plugs, which you can wear to achieve double penetration or when playing with another toy. While butt plugs don't always vibrate, some of them do. People often wear butt plugs during sexual activity; although, some wear them for much longer periods during the day for "anal training" or as part of their kinky play. The plug may be pleasurable on its own, may be twisted, rocked or otherwise moved, or could be used to prepare the wearer for a larger toy or body part. Some butt plugs even provide electric sensations.

Note that the anus cannot self-lubricate, so you should always use lube with a butt plug for maximum comfort. Water-based lube is compatible with all toys. You can use silicone lubes with many toys but should do a spot test with any silicone plug because the materials can react. Apply a small amount of lube on the base and rub vigorously for five minutes before checking for changes in the texture of the toy.
